The number and scope of film festivals happening in the UK is a real eye opener for anybody unfamiliar with art films. Festival themes include films from particular countries or continents, genres such as horror, classic films, and films that are important milestones in cinematic art. Other film festivals focus on new productions and showcase the work of students, artists and lesser known directors.

Most sites offer ticket sales or advance information on the next festival as well as archives of previous events. Some have extensive articles, reviews and show clips of featured films and videos as well.
