Influential musician and composer, music theorist, and visual artist, born 1948. Perhaps best known for his influence on the development of ambient music.

On leaving art school, Brian Eno (with Bryan Ferry) formed Roxy Music where he played keyboards and synthesisers; he left the group for a solo career in 1974.
