Ballroom dancing is a partner dance performed socially and competitively. Competitive dancing is often referred to as DanceSport. The standard ballroom dances include waltz, foxtrot, tango and quickstep, and the Latin dances, cha-cha, rumba, samba, and paso doble. American style dances such as jive and smooth are increasingly included in the repertoire.
