Crowne Plaza Reading

Very unfortunate that my employees had a horrifying experience at this property. One of the hotel staff members went into the room and took a personal item (garment). The hotel did refund the 2 days that they were there for and I relocated them for the rest of the trip to a different hotel.

Our stay was perfect from the time we got there until the time we left. The staff was helpful and pleasant, both in person and on the phone. The room, the lobby and the pool were all clean and organized. The breakfast buffet was great and the staff was friendly. I would stay here again no questions asked.

The 1st room I was put in didn't have hot water and when I flushed the toilet, the water came out between the toilet and the floor.

I was then moved into another room and when I tried to get a shower in the morning, no hot water.

They said I could move into another room but I had to get my day started.

The place needs to be updated.

Oh where do I begin, let's start with the poorly lit parking lot. Talk about feeling unsafe, glad I wasn't alone with my daughter we would have never stayed here. As you enter the hotel it is a total monet. It looks beautiful in the lobby but we were shocked when we got off the elevator on our floor. The second floor is where our room was 281 to be exact but before even making it to the room the hallway was so aged and musty it almost made my eyes water. It literally has not been updated at all EVER. The room itself was dated and the carpet was disgusting. The beds were so uncomfortable we actually left before our second night stay. They claimed this was an upgraded room due to water heater issues but it was horrible. The plumbing was so loud we could hear everything from every room above and around us. We could hear conversations and the cleaning people were so loud I wanted to open the door and yell at them. The breakfast was terrible even with vouchers. The server was new and she just walked around socializing. Overall this hotel was not even 1 star. I felt like I needed a shower after I left there. The pictures are totally misleading. Do not stay here!!!

Negative: Steps going into the lobby,ist room had no heat,caLLED THE FRONT DESKAND THEY BROUGHT A KEY FOR A DIFFERENT room

Great customer service, room could use better detailing.

Like many hotels in the industry, they seem to have some staffing woes. However their customer service was excellent. They were responsive and took great care of us. The room was clean and we were even able to bring our dog. I was concerned that there was no elevator to the lower level where the dog floor was. We had to carry all our stuff down the stairs, making multiple trips. The pool area was clean but we could only stay 20 minutes at a time, our little guy got chilly. It was not well lit, appeared to have multiple burned out lights and the clock didn't work. The temperature needed to be higher for the pool water as well.

I was there only 1 night. Was very nice & comfortable, coffee in the room, always a plus. Desk clerk very nice & helpful. Would stay there again.
