Herbert Woods: School Trips

I just love the Norfolk Broads !
I must do, I've had 21 boating holidays there.
This year my partner and I decided to hire a boat from Herbert Woods for the very first time, and we wasn't disappointed, in fact we were very pleasantly surprised. The service was absolutely second to none, the staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough to make sure our holiday with them went without a hitch.
Would we go with them again ?
We certainly would, that's why we've booked a boat for June and September of next year.
Keep up the great service Herbert Woods, you definitely impressed us.

Overall a fantastic day spent out on one of their day boats

Sadly the area that the stars are lost are in the customer service side. Every face to face interaction felt like it was forced and we were putting them out.

Got a snotty attitude when I was informed I had parked in the wrong place (having logically parked in the area that says Herbert Woods Customers) and not in the area labelled as Lathams customers for the shop across the road??

Was then told to take the form 2 doors up to get life jackets and there was nobody present. Eventually a guy who was cleaning boats came over and passed us two with no instructions on how to fit correctly given wed not been before.

The "introduction/demonstration" of the boat was very half hearted and again given its out first time and your just sent on your way a little bit more hands on wouldn't hurt. At the end we were told just to bring the boat back and if no staff around just leave it and go. Surely there should be some checking out process to make sure everything is OK and all parties are safe.

Even when buying a souvenir from the shop there was no interest in how our day had been

However once we'd left we had a full 6hrs out on the broads and had an absolutely fantastic time doing our own thing.

Definitely makes us want to go on boating trips again...but would honestly second guess whether these are the best company for our money. Felt very transactional sadly.

Herbert woods was able to accommodate my local window cleaning Business and provided me a boat to clean some windows down the river.

Fantastic. The staff are really helpful & friendly. First day we had a day boat & even though they look small they were quite roomy. The second day we had a picnic boat, much bigger. Had heating, toilet, fridge & stove. Had a fantastic time on both boats & look forward to coming again next year. Special mention to the young gentleman who gave us our life jackets & showed us how the boat worked, you were amazing, thank you.

had a great first time experience renting one of the smaller boats for the day. plenty of space for 3 of us and a dog. plenty of great sights and stops along the way would highly recommend. great value for money

We only moored for the night but found the staff to be very friendly and helpfull

Great value two hours in a "Day Bboat". Great fun on the Broads on a lovely day. Friendly and helpful staff.

Hired the picnic boat for the day. The experience from start to finish was wonderful - the ladies in the booking office were very friendly and helpful. The boat was well equipped and comfortable. They even sorted the weather for us. Recommended.
